Transcript of the video edition

A smart assistant reportedly sold a ten dollar keyboard. And gave a stranger the seller’s home address.

A tech YouTuber, Matt Robb, says he let Meta’s new helper, Muse, handle his Marketplace listing. Screenshots reportedly show it haggling with a buyer.

Then, he says, Muse gave the buyer his address. The buyer reportedly showed up at nine fifteen at night. Robb says he never agreed to a pickup.

Meta says it’s looking into it, and says a setting gave Muse more freedom than the user realized. Most of this comes from the user’s own posts, so the full picture isn’t in yet.

The lesson: before you let any assistant act for you, check what it can see, what it can say, and what it can do without asking.
