The Supreme Court Just Banned Student IDs for Voting in New Hampshire
The Supreme Court allowed New Hampshire to bar student IDs as voter ID in the midterms. Here is what the order did and did not decide.

Transcript of the video edition
The Supreme Court just said New Hampshire can ban student IDs for voting in this year’s midterms.
The law is House Bill three twenty-three. It took student IDs off the list of identification voters can use to get a ballot. Governor Kelly Ayotte signed it.
On Thursday, October twenty-second, the Supreme Court paused that order. The decision was unsigned. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was the only justice to publicly disagree.
The court did not decide whether the law is fully legal. It only decided which rules apply this November.
If you vote in New Hampshire, check which kinds of ID your town clerk accepts, and bring a backup.
So before Election Day, check your ID.
