500 Patriot Missiles for Ukraine, No American Money. So Why the Wait?

Five hundred Patriot missiles. Two point one billion dollars. Not one American dollar. So why is Ukraine still waiting?
The State Department approved the possible sale on Friday. Canada, Germany and Norway would pay, along with a European Union loan.
Allies cover the bill, an American company builds the missiles, and the State Department says it serves American security.
The catch: Zelensky says deliveries may begin only in a few years, and he needs them now. The Iran war and growing demand left a shortage, and Defense Secretary Hegseth has said American troops need them too.
Zelensky wants stored missiles sent now, replaced later. The State Department gave no delivery date. For now, Ukraine waits.
